It wasn’t that long ago that I was graduating school wondering what in the world I was going to do with a design degree. There’s not a lot of openings out there right now for people in my industry and I found that out the hard way when I started interviewing for positions. Even with my stellar educational record and portfolio I couldn’t get so much as an internship! Since I live in NYC I don’t exactly have a lot of flexibility when it comes to rent and expenses so I got online and started selling my stuff there. Turns out having my own online shop has been the best thing ever for my work and my pocketbook! I now work out of my tiny apartment where I also store all my art – I went to http://www.securitychoice.com to make sure I was covered, though, in case someone breaks in since it’s not the safest city in the world. I love what I do and I’m happy I’m making it work in this economy!
