When my husband and I recently met with our financial advisor, he had some interesting advice for us—take a look at all of our expenses and see where we could cut costs. That doesn’t seem like an interesting piece of advice from a financial advisor, obviously, but the part that surprised us was that he wanted us to look at some of our much smaller expenses that we would have never thought about otherwise. He wanted us to look at the big things first, of course, but then he wanted us to go all the way down to things like our cable service. I didn’t even know you had a choice in your cable provider, honestly. He pointed out that by going to http://www.cabletelevision.net/ to see what our different options were, we could possibly save a little bit of money every month. I’m not one to turn down a little bit of free money, so we took his advice. Turns out he was right. I sort of wish we had thought of this incredibly easy way to save money without having to actually pay him money. It seems a little counterproductive.

One show that I love to watch on my Cable Television is Degrassi: The Next Generation. It is an awesome show that can be watched easily in secret. However, some watch it with loud mockery. This is a funny show that is about melodramatic Canadian teenagers. People who are into these sorts of shows are in heaven when watching Degrassi. This show is way better than even they give it credit for being on any given day. It has a strong focus on characters that allows it to attract an audience that includes more than just the target demographic of young teen girls who like to dream about dating the hunky guys on the show.  

The best cameo in the history of Degrassi came when Kevin Smith brought his fat butt out of the kitchen and onto the set to provide a three-part cameo appearance with his best friend Jason Mewes by his side.  This cameo was so amazing because Ken Smith is a true fan of the show.  It was actually completely his idea to appear.  He even wrote all of the lines that he delivered on the program.  He says that he loved all of the different versions of Degrassi.  There has been the original Degrassi, the Junior High version of Degrassi, and the Next Generation version.  Most people in the United States have never even heard of this show that spawned the blockbuster rap career of Drake.
